Stanimir is currently working as chief of department of informational and internet services in the Newspaper Group Bulgaria, following his previous engagements in daily 24 Hours, daily Continent and Business Post weekly. He is known to a wider audience under pseudonym, Vaglenov.

Stanimir hopes the Fellowship programme will enhance his qualifications in business journalism, especially in international affairs. He found his project very challenging as it included social, economic and political implications of the South Stream pipeline, one of the most controversial energy project in Europe.

His research was supervised by Albena Shkodrova, an editor of BIRN’s Balkan Insight publication.
