Sokol Ferizi from Pristina, Kosovo, is a young journalist working for the Lajm daily newspaper and as moderator of the leading internet debate list in Kosovo, Prishtina Team

Prior to this, he was an intern at the Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development, KIPRED.

In his article Sokol examined how limited domestic opportunities force an indiscriminate ‘brain-drain,’ while breeding an atmosphere of apathy and conservatism for those remaining at home. He tried to show how essential mobility is, if Kosovar youth are to embrace European values and cope with upheavals.

Her research was supervised by Krenar Gashi, an editor of BIRN’s Balkan Insight publication.
