His has previously worked for many high-profile daily local and regional newspapers and TV stations.

Mircea’s 2010 fellowship project focused on child trafficking in eastern Europe and the Balkans. This issue is under-reported by local and international media and appears to be largely unacknowledged by child protection authorities.

In Romania, international adoption is forbidden but the illegal market in child trafficking appears to be thriving. He conducted field research in Romania, Serbia and Kosovo - as well a travelling to Belgium and Germany - for his project.
