She now works as senior journalist in the Romanian edition of the American magazine Business Week. She won the Young Journalist of the Year 2006 award for the Business & Finance section as well as the national award for the best business story in 2008.

For Magda, Balkan Fellowship was very challenging in terms of putting local developments, related to building of nuclear power plants in Balkan region, in the broader context of European energy policy. Expertise from other countries helped her to understand how the energy business really works and what the threats and opportunities in this area are.

Her research was supervised by Marian Chiriac, an editor of BIRN’s Balkan Insight publication.
