Alumni gathering in Montenegro

Past fellows of the programme will get together next month to discuss media policies and media development in the region and the opportunity to develop joint initiatives.

Speakers from Montenegro will brief the alumni on the the social, political, economic elements, media situation in Montenegro and the EU integration process.

The alumni and their guest speakers will debate the relations between media and governments in the Balkans.

The meeting will be attended by the majority of former fellows of the programme since its establishment in 2007.

Over the years, fellows have expressed an interest in jointly developing original projects after the completion of their yearly programme, and, with this in mind, programme partners Erste Stiftung and Robert Bosch Stiftung have generously agreed to support the establishment of the Alumni Initiative.

At the meeting, fellows will additionally have the chance to catch up, network, exchange experiences and advice and further develop their understanding of, and insight into the Balkan media scene.

About

About Us

In 2007, the Robert Bosch Stiftung and ERSTE Foundation initiated the fellowship programme, in cooperation with the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, to foster quality reporting, initiate regional networking among journalists and advance balanced coverage on topics that are central to the region as well as to the EU

What is the Fellowship?

Journalists in the Balkans must now report on complex reform issues with regional and European dimensions. The fellowship provides editorial guidance, training and adequate funding to do so.

Our Partners

Prominent German and Austrian newspapers, Die Süddeutsche Zeitung and Der Standard, are media partners of the Balkan Fellowship for Journalistic Excellence programme
